About Us

God’s House of Hope is a non-profit agency geared at meeting people’s physical needs so that we would be better received at meeting their spiritual needs by sharing Jesus Christ with them. We have a food pantry & clothes closet. We are able to reach beyond our county to supply food to other food pantries through our food bank.

We have a place for people to work to help develop good work habits. They receive a paycheck and we encourage & help them find a better paying job. At the work place we have weekly Bible devotions and help them apply the Bible truths to everyday life.

We also have a Christian athletic program for children from November through March each year. We teach that every player is a winner along with Bible applications for any situation that may arise during the practices and games.

History:

Heaven’s Grocery Store Food Pantry and Clothes Closet started as a Ministry of Mt. Vernon Baptist Church in Calhoun, Kentucky in August, 2000. McLean County Fiscal Court let us use the basement of the McLean County Health Department. Within the first year Heaven’s Grocery Store Food Bank was added. Miles Enterprises let us use space at the former “Charles Chip” Building for the Food Bank Warehouse. In 2002 we had outgrown the Health Department Building and requested from Debra Seymour (President of Miles Enterprises) a larger space in the same building located at 465 Hwy. 136E, Calhoun, Kentucky. She recommended that Mt. Vernon Baptist Church & Calhoun Baptist Church join our pantries together in two additional rooms at Hwy. 136 E. location. In 2003 we decided to incorporate and apply for our own 501(c) (3) non-profit status. This move let other churches and volunteers feel free to be involved.

Our Ministries:

In 2005 – 2006 we changed our name to God’s House Of Hope. During that time we were blessed with many new ministries. Listed below are the divisions now under God’s House Of Hope.
